Happy Holidays…2007 Roll-up

Happy Happy Happy Holidays to You!

Happy Holidays to all my readers, no matter what you celebrate at this time of year. 2008 is upon us in a few good days that means God Bless and give thanks to being around for another year. Another year to breathe, laugh, call your loved ones and share a good story, another year to taste new foods and enjoy your favorites, another year to tell your family they are the best thing you are a part of, another year to reach for those goals and dreams, another year to fall in love and more importantly love yourself not for who you are or were in ’07 but who you want and push yourself to be each day.

Personally, 2007 was a year of grinding long hard hours, budgeting, planning and organization. I expect 2008 to mirror ’07 but with many more goals, deadlines, planning, saving, business mtgs., boarding passes and all-inclusives.

2008 is supposed to be the year of my Golden birthday. It is intriguing to think that the year I turn the day I was born, something magical takes place and smacks my perspective right in line with what is actually taking place around me. At least this is what I like to dream and hopefully see come true. I am excited, so stay tuned for birthday announcements.

I learned a lot in 2007. I was a first-hand pupil in a classroom filled with a lot of life lessons on friendships, business, homemaking, counseling, managing, compatibility, birthing, health, and most importantly my time on earth. I pray to learn even more, through growing pains may there be gains of all sorts. I pray for your well-being and prosperity in the new year. May you learn a new language, become obsessed with yet another Alicia Keys ballad, or maybe find your next favorite pair of jeans and $500 electro-gadget to match, maybe you will find the right person and pop that question, “what is your life plan for the let say next 5-10 years?” and if they say, “no kids, no drama, excellent credit score, awesome mortgage quotes, all-inclusives and all expense paid vacays to lay up in the shade”, then boys and girls salute and man-up. Not to spend too many thoughts on relationships, but it’s time to step the game up, in regards to settling, playing the “he’s/she’s with you but thinking of me” games and just recognize the truth that there are many persons out there credible and maybe even attractive enough to be the One. So why stop at what you have, when you can acquire what you want? Ladies and gentlemen let us please step into 2008 to a new drum beat over a hot hook.

And don’t think I forgot about the workplace or what we like to think of as the place I go, because I need that check. Understand this if nothing else, you reap what you sow, therefore come to work on time this year! Greet your colleagues with a smile and not resentment. Enjoy the quirks of others, while you secretly aim darts at their skull in your minds. Take a few lunches to do something special for yourself. And most importantly continue to strive for the next rung. I suggest making 2008 yours, and you know they say these are the best days of our lives. No matter what age or career path you are a part of, just get in there and get the job done. Therefore, when the day is done they know and most importantly you know that you did what was right and what was needed to be done and more. Get that raise, get that promotion! If you need to head back to school then complete those standardized hellish exams and applications and please don’t forget to cross your t’s and dot your i’s.

It is amazing to see how fast the days turn into months and the months turn into years. I guess its the trick of our best friend and worse enemy, TIME.
I own a Gucci Swiss, stainless steel, saphire crystal, water resistant time piece, that I wear daily as well as a Tmobile Dash smartphone(that should be renamed, frozen-ass program phone) that I carry daily. These two tools of time keep me on schedule, warns me when I am off schedule. In 2008 I vow to be more on schedule and would like to take this time to show appreciation to my watch and phone for keeping me moderately ahead of my schedule throughout the year. In appreciation I did not step out and purchase a new cellular or watch for the holiday season, even though those are usually the items of investment during this time of year. Instead, I choose to hold onto them, well at least my watch until it is no longer functional, as it is now my gadget of responsibility and progress. I know a lot of your are thinking, a watch is a watch but the days I don’t wear a watch I might as well be invisible. Still unsure if it’s as bad as the days I forget to wear earrings?

Remember one thing is nothing, make 2008 yours because no one else will, in fact you owe it to yourself.

Why?

Because……..
